NEAA Junior Dodgers Open Season 2-0

Starting off 2-0 in the RBI League (baseball in the inner city) is a good start for the NEAA Junior Dodgers (15-16) Baseball team coached by Rep. Aaron Michlewitz and Matthew Imbergamo. The local team will play a 12 game regular season and playoffs if they make them.

In their first game of the regular season the Dodgers handily beat the Twins behind the eight strikeout performance by starting pitcher Vincent LoPriore who went the distance on the mound.

Justin Amoroso led the Dodgers hitting attack with two hits and four runs scored, Nick Iudiciani and John Posada both had two RBIs for the winning Dodgers team. Eight different Dodgers players had hits.

The Dodgers raised their record to 2-0 with a convincing win over the Tigers 5-1 in the team home opener at Puopolo Park on Commercial Street.

Like Vincent LoPriore, Nick Iudiciani pitched the full seven innings allowing only 2 hits and one unearned run.

Iudiciani received excellent defensive plays from Anthony Finnochiaro at third and second baseman Asher Kulich. Vincent LoPriore led the way on offense with two hits and two runs scored.
