Robbing the church

The alleged robber who stole money and items of value from local churches, including two in this neighborhood, has been arrested by Boston police and is now living behind bars where he ought to be.

It is believed by police that the thief now residing in jail, broke into Saint Stephen’s and St. Leonard’s Church.

As most of us would tend to do, we find stealing from the church incomprehensible.

What kind of person steals from the church?

How much of one’s humanity does one have to lose to break into a church and to steal silver chalices and whatever cash from collections was hidden away?

But stealing from the church remains a terrible sin against those people who do such things.

We hope the fellow who was caught and charged with stealing from the church will seek redemption.

If anyone needs it, it is him.
