Sponsored by the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) the North End Little League baseball team ended its Fall Ball season in Medford with a good 7-6 overall record, losing and winning a game on the road.
The team’s four game winning streak was hauled in a close loss 9-7 on Saturday. However, the North End team rebounded big time the following Sunday trouncing their opponent 27-10 in the most lopsided game of the Fall Ball League.
In the first game the local team fell behind 8-0 but scored 7 of the next 8 runs making it a close contest. Leaving the bases loaded twice and two runners cut down at the dish didn’t exactly help matters.
In final game of the season the NEAA team scored in every inning including in the top of the 6th where every batter appeared at the plate twice delivering 13 runs.
Each player also collected two hits, scored two runs and drove in 2 runs in the rout. Five players had 4 hits each during the lopsided contest.
"Coach John Pezzuto did a great job with the traveling team which finished the Fall Ball season with a respectable 7-6 record," NEAA Baseball Coordinator John Romano said.
"If everything goes well the NEAA will once again extend our baseball season and sponsor another team in the Medford Fall Ball League," Romano said.
