A Great Community Service
Through its current Food Insecurity Program, NEW Health has managed to distribute much-needed fresh fruits and vegetables to local patients that appreciate receiving healthy food.
Since the program was established in 2016, the ongoing special program has been a highly successful community endeavor that has clearly helped to improve the quality of life for those in need of nutritious food.
NEW Health should be applauded for providing a much needed and welcome service to the community.
NEWNC 2023 Election
Be a candidate in the NEWNC election. Residents are actively being encouraged to become a candidate in the 2023 North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) election of board members.
This year, six of the twelve seats are open for election for two-year terms.
NEWNC was established many years ago to be the voice of the community in City Hall and is the only officially public elected organization.
NEWNC members have a first-hand opportunity to express and deal with community issues, requests and concerns relating to the neighborhood they reside in.
Sitting on your hands and having an attitude of let someone else do it, is not acceptable. Take out nomination papers for the May 13 election. Be a part of your neighborhood.
A Much-Needed New Center
Design and eventual construction of a new North End Community Center, with full involvement from the neighborhood will take place this summer.
A replacement for the Nazzaro Community Center on North Bennet Street, a new and modern Center will be built adjacent to the Mirabella Pool on Commercial Street that will provide many new programs and activities for residents of all ages.
The community has openly recognized the efforts of Boston Mayor Michele Wu and Rep. Aaron Michlewitz that made possible a much-needed community Center.
Old North Church a Good Neighbor
A huge pot of American history, the Old North Church on Salem Street in the North End has celebrated its 300th birthday.
Known best for its “One if by Land. Two if by Sea†lantern hanging in its steeple and the famous Midnight Ride of Paul Revere that started the American Revolution, the church managed to create and conduct many community events beside historical activities.
Attracting thousands of visitors each year to the historic site, the church creates no real negative impact on the neighborhood and keeps the site spotless.
The church’s property is always clean, safe and full of beautiful gardens and is a community good neighbor.
