Cornhole Benefit Classic held
Ways and Means Chair Rep. Aaron Michlewitz hosted another successful Cornhole Classic (fourth annual) in the North End benefiting the Geraldine Marshall Scholarship Fund and the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC).
Held on Fulton and Lewis Streets the Classic provided prizes to the top three teams, a DJ and raffle prizes.
The community event attracted many participants and a large crowd of spectators.
Armenian Heritage Park Expresses the Immigrant Experience
Located between Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Christopher Columbus Park on The Greenway, the Armenian Heritage Park expresses the immigrant experience and graces public space with design features to engage all ages to come together on common ground.
The abstract sculpture that sits on top of the reflecting pool at the site is dedicated to lives lost during the Armenian Genocide 1915-1923 and all the genocides that have followed. It is symbolic of the immigrant experience.
Also located in the park is The Labyrinth, a circular winding path paved in grass and inlaid stone, celebrate life’s journey, art service, science and contributions made by Armenian life and culture.
Many special events are held at the Armenian Heritage Foundation at the park during the course of the year.
Greenway Offers Many Programs and Wins Award
Many good things are happening at the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway’s spacious open space that has become an extremely popular place to be.
Visitors can explore this season’s unprecedented Augmented Realty (AP) and Public Art tours with experts and learn more about art that helps make The Greenway so special when booking a free tour.
The Carousel is available for a great place to celebrate children’s birthdays.
Planned by party specialists, the team will take care of all the work including the premium party package for up to 12 people for 15 hours.
A partnership has been arranged with Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt, the present sponsor of the Park’s Play Program. Yasso will be providing samples of their product throughout the summer.
Anne Lily’s Temple of Mnemon, installed during The Greenway 2018 Public Art Network’s Americans for the Arts Award. This marks the Conservancy’s eighth award since 2013.
