Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) manages 16 indoor pools and employees permanent, full-time lifeguards at these facilities.
Some qualified lifeguards can potentially make a carrier out of these positions and BCYF can possibly help with free lifeguard training.
Qualifications are: must be 18 years or older, a Boston resident, first aid and CPR qualified and certified as a lifeguard.
Eligible staff benefits include: $18.22 per hour to start, yearly salary increases, thirty-five-hour workweek, affordable health and life insurance, free dental and vision insurance, paid sick leave, vacation and 11 paid holidays, pension at retirement, if qualified by years of service.
