Friends of the North End Library recently presented a book discussion by author and Professor of history at UMass Boston, Vincent J. Cannato.
The author spoke on his 2010 book, American Passage: The History of Ellis Island, that captures a time and a place unparalleled in American immigration, history, that articulates the dramatic and bittersweet accounts of immigrants, officials, interpreters and social reformers who all played an important role in Ellis Islands chronicles.
This is one of many activities, programs and events the Friends sponsor during the year. More are being planned.
