Luigi Natale, a lifelong resident of the North End has been elected President of the newly formed North End Sons and Daughters of the Sons of Italy Lodge #2996.
Natale, a community activists and aide to Senator Joe Boncore, helped spearhead the formation of the North End Lodge that has 60 members.
The installation of the Lodge was held at Saint Leonard’s Church in the North End. National President Vera Girolami attended the ceremony. Many other Lodges participated in the special events.
In addition, many elected officials were on hand for the official start of the North End Lodge.
Founding members of the Lodge were Natale, Damien DiPaola and Louis Strazzullo.
Natale stated, “It’s an honor to be a part of an organization that focuses on preserving Italian traditions, culture, history and heritage, especially in the North End.â€
This is the second time a Lodge has been formed in the North End. Other officers included: Recording Secretary Maria Lanza, Financial Secretary Karen Vita D’Amico, Treasurer John Pregmon, Vice-President Damien DiPaola, Orator Jason Aluia Guard Maurizio Fabbo and Trustees Debra DeCristoforo, Louis Strazzullo, Maria Michlewitz, and Theresa and Salvatore Deicide.
