NEWRA Elects Officers at Last Meeting

New officers have been elected to the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).

Voted in were: President Cheryl Delgreco, Vice President David Goggins, Secretary Jennifer Crampton, Treasurer Sue Benveniste and Sergeant at Arms Mary Holland.

NEWRA voted to support (19-4) a proposal to by Barbara Angiulo to change the occupancy at 276-282 Hanover Street from 16 units and restaurant to 20 units and restaurant.

Renovations will be made on the second and fifth floors and a new sprinkler system. Units will be two-bedrooms and studio units.

A request by Michael and Peta Prinn to change the legal occupancy at 278 North Street was deferred by NEWRA.

The change was from a four to a three-family dwelling, renovate the second, third and fourth stories, extend the living space into the basement, erect a new fifth floor and install a new roof deck.

NEWRA suggested the applicant to meet with abutters who are opposed to the project.
