NEMPAC Offers Two Children’s Programs

North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is offering two programs, First Steps and Family Music Makers, for children ages six months to three years of age.

Street Corner Society Discussion

I Am Books, North End, will hold a discussion of the Street Corner Society with the North End Historical Society and special guest speaker Oscar Anderson, PhD on Friday, September 24 at 6 PM at the North End Library..

Blessing of          the Animals

The Old North Church in conjunction with RUFF will hold the annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, September 30 at 1:30 PM in the new dog park located in DeFilippo Park.

Author Talks      and Lectures

Carmine Vittoria discusses his book Bitter Chicory to Sweet Espresso: Survival and Deliverance from WW II in the Naples, Italy, area 1940-49, which relates events of WW II as witnessed by a child on Wednesday, September 26 at 6:30 PM at the North End Library and on Thursday, September 27 at 6:30 PM at the West End Library.

North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee (ZLCC) meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 7 PM at the Mariners House, 11 North Square, 2nd floor.

 I Am Books Event

Italian author Paola Bidinelli presents her latest novel, Muta Celeste, with readings in Italian and English. Reading in English by poet Ani Gijka, with musical accompaniment by flutist Elaine Huff. Scheduled for Sunday, September 22 at 6PM.

I Am Books Performance

Valerie Giglio, a Boston based vocalist, author, and Berklee College of Music student will be performing an evening of songs from standards, to jazz, pop, and Italian music at I Am Books on Saturday, September 29 at 6PM.

Italian American Heritage Month Golf Tournament

Boston Public        Market Returns

The Boston Public Market at Dewey Square returns to The Greenway with popular farmers market full of fresh and local foods. Purchase produce, flowers, and baked goods from over 20 local producers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
