On Saturday, May 19th, residents voted to elect five members to the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council.
2018 NEWNC Election Results
Marie Simboli – 83 votes
John Pregmon – 61 votes
Brett Roman – 49 votes
Patrick Bova – 39 votes
Joel (Jody) Faller – 33 votes
All of the candidates listed above will be serving a two-year term on the council. This year, the NEWNC election saw a low turnout of 107 voters because there were only five candidates running for six open seats, ensuring all nominees would get a seat on the council. Write in votes were not permitted.
The other six sitting members of the council with one more year remaining on their term include: Tina Natale, Carmine Guarino, Sean Hennessey, Damien DiPaola, Tania Green and Ashley McCarthy. There will be 11 NEWNC members in the coming year with one vacant seat.
The first NEWNC meeting with the new council members is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2018. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 N. Bennet Street, North End, Boston.
