North End resident and North End Athletic Association (NEAA) long time Baseball Commissioner Ralph Martignetti has been unanimously voted President of the Lou Thompson statewide All-Star (LTA) Baseball program.
Martignetti has been Commissioner of the Lou Thompson Senior Division for the past six-years.
He replaces LTA President Joseph Rushing who stepped down after 12 years of being Commissioner.
LTA is the highest level of baseball played in the state and for the 2018 season has been broken down into three divisions. The B Division 13-14, with approximately 32 teams, the A Division 15-16 expected to have 20 teams, and the A Senior division 17-21 with possibly 12 teams.
Replacing Martignetti as Commissioner of the Senior Division is long time North End staple, Domenic DiCenso who was also elected the league’s Treasurer.
Together they are hoping to continue the growth of LTA and promote NEAA baseball throughout the league.
Both young men told the Review they are, “Excited to be a major part of the very established and competitive league and are looking forward to starting the season.â€
