Sandra L. Piccolo

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother

Sandra L. (McGonagle) Piccolo, age 77, a resident of Tewksbury for 49 years, and communicant of St. William’s Parish, passed away at the D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 after a 6 month courageous battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Albert A. Piccolo with whom she celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on October 12th.

Born in Cambridge on November 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Puopolo) McGonagle.

Sandra was raised in Boston’s North End, and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1958.

In 1968, she and her husband Al moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their four children.

Sandra enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She and husband enjoyed traveling with friends and family, most recent memories included trips to Disney World and a Mediterranean cruise with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Michael A. Piccolo, Michele P. Chase and her husband Peter, Albert A. Piccolo, Jr. and his wife Kim, and, Arthur M. Piccolo and his wife Marli, all of Tewksbury; nine grandchildren, Kori and Alyssa Piccolo, Meredith, Everett, and Heather Chase, Anna and Robert Piccolo, and Ava and Benjamin Piccolo; her sister, Mary Orlandella and her husband Phillip of Saugus; her brother-in-law, Leonard Pihl of Medford, her brother-in-law Richard Piccolo and his wife Dorothy of Goffstown, NH; also many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was predeceased by her sister, Annette Pihl.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Developmental Day School at PCCD, 32 Osgood Street, Andover, MA 01810.
