Black Dog Realty Group sponsors NEAA soccer program

By Phil Orlandella

For the second consecutive year, Dhiren Thakker of the Black Dog Group, has generously donated $1,000 to sponsor the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) fall Youth Soccer Program that takes place at Puopolo Park.

“The sponsorship helps pay for shirts and socks for all the players in the league,” NEAA Coordinator John Romano said.

“Not only does Dhiren sponsor our program, he is one of the coaches of the 10 to 13-year-old program, he helps with the overall coordination of the popular league,” Romano added.

The soccer league has approximately 125 boys and girls ages 4 to 13-year-olds that conduct games and practices at Puopolo Park on Commercial Street.

“We (NEAA) are extremely grateful to Black Dog Realty Group for their continued sponsorship and Dhiren for his direct involvement with the children of our very popular and successful soccer program,” Romano added.

Many programs, activities, and other neighborhood events have been organized by the NEAA for the neighborhood over numerous years. The NEAA is a non-profit organization.

The older group plays on Friday evenings from 5:30  to 7 p.m. and the other age groups play on Saturday mornings.
