NEWRA Elects Officers

An election of officers was the main part of the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) October monthly meeting held at the Nazzaro Community Center.

Elected were: President Mary McGee, Vice President David Goggins, Treasurer Sue Benveniste, Secretary Jennifer Crampton and Sergeant of Arms Cheryl Delgreco.

District 1 Boston City Council candidates Stephen Passacantilli and Lydia Edwards gave brief summaries of their respective platform and answered questions from the membership.

            Peter Shelley of the Conservation Law Foundation gave a presentation on the role that the Public Trust Doctrine plays in waterfront development in Massachusetts. He also answered questions from members.
