Feast should go on forever

North End religious feasts have completed the season of celebrating their patron saints on the streets of the community.

In some cases, these societies have conducted these festivals for over 100 years with family, friends, neighbors and the City of Boston.

Thousands of out-of-towners venture into the community to enjoy themselves in a great atmosphere of religious flair and a great sense of the North End community, plus the food.

The societies, residents and the Boston Police, working together do a great job of keeping an eye out for any potential problems.

North End feast should continue forever. They are a part of the community that local societies and many others look forward to every year.

Who else but… John “JR” Romano

What can be said regarding John Romano who coordinates fantastic neighborhood events, activities and field trips for organizations through North End Against Drugs (NEAD) and the North End Athletic Association (NEAA).

Romano is a bundle of energy, enough to light up the entire community.

The President of NEAD also works diligently with several other agencies in partnership with the development of their neighborhood endeavors.

He has accomplished many valuable, interesting, educational and fun filled neighborhood events for many years and is still in full steam ahead.

Born and raised in the North End, Romano continues to show his love for the neighborhood with his overwhelming support and dedication to providing many programs for all ages.

For the most part, Romano gets some recognition for his total community effort, but he certainly deserves more accolades for the tremendous accomplishments for the neighborhood.

Romano is without question a “Man For All Seasons” especially within the North End neighborhood.

Hundreds enjoy National Night Out

Earlier this summer, North End Against Drugs (NEAD) and Boston Police held a very successful “National Night Out” in the Paul Revere Mall (Prado).

The community endeavor attracted hundreds of people to the annual fun filled and educational event that featured a free BBQ, entertainment, information, demonstrations, a candle light procession and much more.

Numerous local agencies and organizations help make this special yearly event the success it was.

Participants had a great time and everyone is looking forward to another “National Night Out” in 2018.
