NEMPAC Pledge Me Campaign Provides Student Scholarships

By Phil Orlandella

North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) celebrating 15 years of music, art and cultural programs will conduct a Pledge Me Campaign (through April 7) and a Performathon (April 8) at the Boston Public Market from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The Pledge Me Campaign raises funds for NEMPAC students that wish to study music or participate in an arts program.

Each scholarship recipient goes through an application process which is reviewed by an anonymous committee.

NEMPAC’s goal is to reach $7,500 of which one-hundred percent will go to student scholarships.

For the past two years, by January, NEMPAC has already turned families away that need financial support in order to participate in programs, because NEMPAC’s budget has been depleted.

This year, NEMPAC is asking a special individual or business to match student pledges raised. One business has already agreed to co-match.

Anyone that would like to support NEMPAC call Executive Director Sherri Snow at 617-227-2270 or visit www.nempacboston.org.
