Local Man Arrested for Pulled a Fire Alarm at the Logan Airport Hilton Hotel

Massachusetts State Police early Sunday morning arrested a local man who pulled a fire alarm at the Logan Airport Hilton hotel. Among the guests staying at the hotel at the time were the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were playing the Patriots in Sunday night’s AFC Championship. Evidence suggests that the suspect pulled the alarm as a prank for that reason.

State Police and Massport Fire responded to the report of an alarm at the hotel at about 3:40 a.m. Firefighters and troopers determined it was a false alarm.

Troopers located Dennis Harrison, 25, of East Boston, walking in the parking garage adjacent to hotel property and determined he had activated the pull alarm in the hotel. Harrison was not a guest at the hotel, was not an airline passenger, and had no legitimate reason to be on the property.

Further investigation indicates that Harrison drove to the hotel with two friends and entered the hotel by himself and activated the pull alarm. After pulling the alarm, Harrison immediately left the hotel but did not get back into the car afterward.  His two friends never tried to pick Harrison up afterward, and apparently fled the area outside the hotel on foot separate from Harrison’s attempt to walk away. Harrison found the car left outside the hotel but his friends were gone and had taken the keys with them.

Troopers charged Harrison with disorderly conduct; disturbing the peace; and setting off a false fire alarm. He was bailed from the barracks on $100 and was expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday.
