Friends of the North End Library, 25 Parmenter Street, will conduct a Membership Information Night on Wednesday, October 26 from 6-7:30pm.

This is a great opportunity to get involved with the local library and its many activities and events held during the year.

Residents can join in weekly book sorting, a spring book sale, a holiday open house, weekly gardening, help with promotions, fundraising, support expanding programs, help organize Wednesday night events, help writing grants or even serve on the Board.

Have a Howling and  safe Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner with hundreds of local children and teens trick or treating or attending a community party all dressed up as witches, monsters or their favorite characters or my favorite, a newspaper reporter.

Several local groups will most likely conduct Halloween parties at several locations that are safe and great events that should be considered especially for younger children.

Those that decide to hit the streets should make absolutely sure they are accompanied by another person (s).

Have a Howling Halloween.
