NEWNC Supports Four Changes to Full Liquor Licenses

An unprecedented four liquor license changes was the main topic at the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street.

The city has requested 10 more licenses from the state.

Represented by Attorney William Ferullo, Cantina Italiana, 346 Hanover Street, Mare, 3 Mechanic Street, Monica’s Trattoria, 67 Prince Street and Ducali Pizzeria, 289 Causeway Street are seeking to update their beer, wine and cordial licenses to full liquor license. All request were supported.

The request have no change of hours, description or operation, according to Attorney Ferullo.

Two of the owners requesting changes are Philip Frattaroli (Ducali Pizzeria) and Jorge Mendoza are elected members of NEWNC, Frattaroli is the President. Both owners did not vote.

The other eateries are owned by Fiore Coletta (Cantina) and Frank DePasquale (Mare).

The Council voted to support a request by Trecia Puopolo to change from a three-story, single-family dwelling located at 4 Cleveland Place to a four-story plus mezzanine, three family dwelling. Property not to exceed 55 feet. Puopolo was represented by Attorney Daniel Toscano.

In addition the Council supported a request by Constantine Divides seeking approval of a small mechanical unit attached to an adjacent existing roof deck at 57 Fleet Street.

Jeremy Pomp, General Manager of Zip Car Boston, was scheduled to discuss the results of the first three months of a trial parking program in the North End that has taken residential spaces away from local parkers.
