It’s time to fire up the pizza oven for this week’s grand opening of Rina’s Pizzeria & Cafe. Located next to the original Strega North End, Rina’s is the latest creation by Nick Varano and The Varano Group. The address at 371 Hanover Street is right on the Freedom Trail in Boston’s North End.
Named after Nick’s granddaughter, Rina’s has a centerpiece wood-fired brick pizza oven and a menu featuring specialty pizza, sandwiches, arancini and other Italian cafe fare. There will also be prepared foods displayed in the window with some retail items such as Italian gravy. Beverages will include a beer and wine menu in addition to coffee and espresso drinks.
Locals will recognize the familiar face of Luigi DeMarco who will be managing the pizza shop. “I’m excited to be part of Nick Varano’s latest venture and working in the North End.” said DeMarco. “I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love. I hope to see you everyone at Rina’s over the summer and getting to create some great memories.”
Rina’s Pizzeria & Cafe is Nick Varano’s third North End eatery in addition to Strega North End and NICO’s wine bar. The Varano Group also operates Strega Waterfront in the Seaport, STRIP by Strega in Back Bay, Strega Prime in Woburn and Strega Cafe.
