No North End Part One Crime Reported During the Month of March

There were no, count them no, Part One crimes reported during the month of March according to statistics presented at the recent Boston Police District A-1 Public Safety meeting held last week in the Nazzaro Community Center.

This appears to be the first time ever that there has been no Part One crimes reported in a single month in the North End.

Captain Ken Fong attributed this to cooperation between residents and the police.

According to the police report, there were too loud parties at 92 Endicott Street and 416 Hanover Street.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on Salem Street for banging on a stop sign. When told to stop, he told the arresting officer no and then attempted to bribe the officers saying, “If you let me go, I’ll give you a joint.”

Captain Fong noted that the homeless situation in the community has not been a real problem to date, but expects that once the warm weather sets in, the number of homeless will begin to increase.

The time for the next Public Safety meeting has been changed to 6pm. As usual, the meeting will take place in the Nazzaro Community Center on Thursday, May 7.
