Greenway Conservancy Executive Director Jessie Brackenbury and his staff presented plans for the 2015 scheduled improvements and repairs for North End parks.
The community meeting was the third to discuss plans and to seek community import.
Brackenbury confirmed that the Conservancy has received a $400,000 grant from the Mass Culture Council, to make the improvements and that A. Bonadio and Sons has been selected as the contractor.
The project is slated to start in early April and completed in June.
Improvements include: replacing Ballard lighting, replacing LD lighting on the Freedom Trail, restoration of the finish on metal railings, refurbishing of the Pedola support posts, repair Parcel 8 fountain leak and replace 21 benches, 8, of which will be swinging benches.
MassDOT has turned over an additional six parcels to the Conservancy, according to Brackenbury. He told residents that currently there are no potential plans for them at this time but if anything develops the Conservancy will contact and meet with the community.
