North Bennet Street School Goes Solar

The North Bennet Street School is the first participant in the Race to Solar program to install a solar energy system and complete energy efficiency upgrades. Race to Solar is a multi-city program to bring solar energy to nonprofits in Boston and Cambridge.
The Race to Solar provider,
SunBug Solar, installed a 50kW solar system on the roof of two of their school buildings that will generate 20% of their electricity.
Race to Solar is a partnership between Renew Boston, City of Cambridge, NSTAR, and Home Energy Efficiency Team (HEET) that aims to promote energy efficiency upgrades and makes solar energy more affordable and accessible for non-profits, including houses of worship
and schools, and small businesses that own their buildings.
