North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) members have elected Ford Cavallari as the neighborhood organization’s new President.
One of Cavallari’s first orders of business was a commitment to work closely with the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) on issues and requests that are directly related to the future of the community.
Many times, over the years, both groups have been on the opposite sides of proposed plans in the neighborhood, creating mixed emotions in the community and at City Hall.
An honest attempt to become a single voice for the community is extremely important. It will send a clear message to everyone.
While each group can still be identified as NEWRA and NEWNC, better communications can result in some better interactions on North End issues.
