NEWNC Supports Three Requests

During its last monthly meeting of the year, the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) addressed three requests and heard  a presentation on Faneuil Hall Market by Susan Loungo of the Faneuil Hall Market Vendors regarding possible impacts on the North End community.

Loungo told the Council that the new owners are already displacing tenants inside the buildings and it appears vendors who have a one-year lease  in the mall will be next.

The vendors were seeking support from the Council but the neighborhood group did not vote on the issue.

A request by Seth Nock, 16-18 Battery Street, to change the legal occupancy of the existing premises from nine residential units to ten and to construct a one-story addition with a private roof deck was supported by the Council.

Joyce Pedi’s request to construct a one-story addition at 102 Prince Street with no change in legal occupancy, was also supported by the neighborhood organization.

In addition, the Council voted to support another request by Pedi to change the legal occupancy at 104 Prince Street from four to five residential units and to construct a one-story addition.

North End Attorney Daniel Toscano represented the Pedi family.

The next NEWNC monthly meeting will be held on Monday, January 12 at 7:30pm in the Nazzaro Community Center.
