North End Mother and Daughter Walk to Benefit Cancer Society

North End resident Marie Parker Orlandi and her daughter Karen Parker Meyers, for the fifth consecutive year, walked with their Relay for Life Team “Miles of Memories” to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The benefit walk took place at the Burlington High School Track.

“We do this in memory of those we love and lost and in honor of our loved ones that are currently fighting and surviving cancer,” Marie said.  “We are determined to have more happy memories and birthdays together.”

In addition to the relay, the fundraising efforts this year included a multifamily yard sale at Karen’s house,  an ice cream fundraiser at Orange Leaf, selling of silver inspirational bracelets, and a very successful dinner at Filippo’s Ristorante. Numerous donors not only participated but also by generously donating an abundance of raffle prizes.

The donors included: Café Paradiso, North End Athletic Association, My Cousin’s Place, Winfrey’s Chocolate’s, Arbella Insurance, Lit Boutique, Pet Life Store Yappy Pups Playhouse, Trader Joe’s, Injeanius, Matter of Face Heart & Sole, Drydock Café, Antico Forno, Terra Mia, North End Fish & Sushi, Ensemble, Mike’s Pastry, Philips Hair Salon, Amici, Laser Enhanced Therapies, CocoaNuts Hanover Wine & Spirits, Bella Vista and various wonderful gifts generously donated by Patty & Nick LaRosa, Alma D’Antonio, Anna Martignetti, Trish & Buddy Clemmer, Tina Argiro, Marie Testa and Karen Meyers.
