NEMPAC Opera Production at Faneuil Hall

Opening night is quickly approaching for the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Opera Production of Die  Feldermaus by Strauss in English.

Once again, NEMPAC will  be performing in historic Faneuil Hall fully-staged and with a full orchestra  under the musical direction of Dr. Tiffany Chang and directed by Adrienne Boris.

Founded by Rebecca Rapoport-Cole and Sherri Snow, NEMPAC’s Opera Project mission is to serve the Boston artistic community of  singers, instrumentalists and artistic staff, as well as the general public by providing affordable Opera in urban Boston.

NEMPAC has also been able to provide over 150 local singers, directors and musicians the professional experiences they seek.

In an effort to challenge the boundaries of what a theatre space “has” to be, the NEMPAC Opera Project has sought to use exclusively non-traditional spaces. In their first year, NEMPAC took the provocative work of Bizet’s Carmen to St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown Boston, and also provided a community outreach performance at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.

Last year, they performed Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte in Boston’s Faneuil Hall. The production was so successful in this space, that they have chosen to return in 2014 with the English production of Die Fledermaus.

Tickets for the Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 7pm performances, a night full of love affairs, hidden identities and champagne can be reserved for Regular $25, VIP $45, Students/Seniors $20, at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/die-fledermaus-performed-in-english-tickets-10890085539.
