Senator Petruccelli Runs Boston Marathon

Senator Petruccelli and family at finish line.

A stellar finish for the North End’s very own, Senator Anthony Petruccelli who completed the 2014 Boston Marathon.  Competing in his first full marathon, Senator Petruccelli began training immediately following last year’s tragedy starting with what was most comfortable for him- short runs of three to five miles, and eventually progressing to long nineteen plus mile runs. “I was determined to run this year to show my two kids, nieces and nephews what the Boston Marathon really is about.  It’s about people from all over the world, joining together in our beautiful city to compete, celebrate and unify as one;  a tradition which we would not let anyone take away from us.”

Senator Petruccelli completed the race 6:30:14 and was greeted by his family at the finish line.

Although he didn’t officially run with a team, Senator Petruccelli encourages those interested in making donations consider giving to The One Fund.
