North End Athletic Association held awards night in the Nazzaro Community Center for its’ 2013 Youth Soccer Program.
There were over 120 children who participated in the program this year. The soccer league was composed of boys and girls age 4 to 12. They played on Saturday mornings from September to November.
The league is run by all volunteer coaches, some who are parents of children in the league and others who live in the neighborhood and volunteer their soccer expertise to share with the kids.
It was a fun program meant to teach some basic skills, get exercise and more importantly meet new friends and learn sportsmanship and teamwork. The NEAA presented each player with a soccer medal and pizza and water were served.
Only about half of the children were able to attend the awards night due to other commitments and a busy school week, however the players have been coming by the Nazzaro Center throughout the week to get their medals.
