A request to have a dog park pilot program on the North End Parcel 12 site is currently ongoing but much more support is needed to possibly accomplish this endeavor being spearheaded by Responsible Urbanites For Fido (RUFF).
The non-profit organization already does so much to help keep the neighborhood clean by advising other dog owners of their responsibilities as residents to pickup after their pet, conducts monthly park or playgrounds cleanups and distributes information and plastic bags in areas that dog owners use.
While RUFF does an outstanding job attempting to keep the neighborhood clean, there is a real need for a dog park in the neighborhood.
Senator Anthony Petrucelli and Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina favor a dog park pilot program.
MassDOT, the owner of the parcel and the Greenway Conservancy are not on board as yet.
Local dog owners, residents and the business community need to buckle up and clearly show support for this pilot program which will obviously help keep the community clear of dog droppings.
