Dolores Paturzo

Retired Revere Police Department Coordinator

Dolores M. “Dee” (Ventola) Paturzo of Revere, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on December 9 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston following a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was 70 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, the daughter of the late James and Lucy (Calococci) Ventola, she was a 1961 graduate of the former Julie Billiart Catholic Central High School of the North End where “Dee” was known as a champion swimmer.

She moved to Revere 50 years ago and worked for the Revere Police Department as a call taker and coordinator for more than 18 years until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, loved knitting, crocheting and ceramics and also taught an evening craft class at Revere High School.

“Dee” was the wife of the late Thomas A. Paturzo who died in November of 1997; the devoted mother of Tracey A. Paturzo and her boyfriend, Michael Matarazzo of Revere; the cherished sister of: Angela Capone and her late husband, Charles of Somerville, James Ventola and his wife, Laurel Thorne of Ocala, Florida, Christine “Chris” Welch and her husband, Allan Welch of Saugus and Nicholas “Nick” Ventola and his wife, Julie Ventola of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Mass.
