LaMattina Calls for Public Safety Study

Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina has suggested that the Mayor and the Boston City Council conduct a study that would combined the North End/Waterfront and Charlestown neighborhoods into one police district with its own captain.

The Councilor has raised the idea in both communities at public hearings.

Stemming for residents calling for better police response and more manpower dedicated to their neighborhoods, Councilor LaMattina is calling for a study.

Public discussion on this idea is worth the effort and could be the answer to the concerns raised by these communities, separated by a bridge.

Any time an idea is raised that could increase or better public safety it should be considered.
