North End/Waterfront residents are encouraged to become members of NEWRA, a non-profit community agency dedicated to preserve the quality and life-style of the neighborhood.
NEWRA meets monthly and has several committees including Zoning, Licensing and Construction, Parks and Open Spaces, Executive and of course membership which this article is all about.
Numerous topics of interest are discussed and voted on by NEWRA members at their monthly meetings at 7pm which are held in the Nazzaro Community Center.
Agenda items include: Alcohol licenses, development, new restaurants and other businesses, occupancy changes, additional seating capacity in businesses and many other requests that directly affect the community.
The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) is an all volunteer and very active community agency. NEWRA not only welcomes new members, it would also like to have current members get involved with their committees.
