Robert Joseph Bova

Of Boston’s North End, formerly of Revere

Robert Joseph Bova of Boston’s North End, formerly of the West End and Revere, passed away on May 22 following a long battle with leukemia. He was 77 years old.

Born and raised in the West End, Robert attended the Winchell, Peter Faneuil and Blackstone schools, as well as Boston Latin School.  He was a member of the West End House and camp.

His family moved to Revere in 1953 and lived here for many years.  Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a journalist and public information specialist from 1955 to 1959.

He was a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication where he earned a BS degree in public relations in 1963.  He was employed for many years at the General Electric Company in Lynn. Following an early retirement in 1989, Robert moved to West Palm Beach, Florida.  In 2006, he took up residence in Asheville, North Carolina, moving back to Boston in 2010

The beloved son of the late Frank Joseph and Mildred Louise (Falino) Bova, he is survived by three sisters: Lorraine C. Addario of Revere, Angela M. Bova of Windham, NH and Joyce P. Bova-Koster and her husband, Peter, also of Windham; his nephew, Carmen R. Addario and his wife, Phyllis of Beverly, niece Lori A. Addario of Lynn, and by many great and great, great nephews and nieces.

A visitation was held at the Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial St, Boston on May 24 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 68 William Cardinal O’Connell Way, Boston.    Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Padova Antonino

North End Resident

Padova Antonino of the North End of Boston died on May 30.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rosa (Ferrigno); devoted father of Paola Giacalone and her husband, Lorenzo and the late Alfonso; cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren and four loving great grandchildren.

His Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St.  (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday, June 6 at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Mr. Padova’s life at St Leonard’s Church, Hanover Street, North End at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with Mr. Padova being laid to rest with his beloved wife in the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery.
