North End Beautification Committee Making Things Happen

Local groups and leaders, elected officials, residents and the business community should jump on the North End Beautification Committee’s band wagon.

While the neighborhood group is currently seeking non-profit status, it continues to service the community in many ways.

The Committee’s goal and/or mission is to work closely with all parties within the community to improve and enhance the quality of life in the North End with beautification and clean-up projects throughout the historic community which is visited by thousands of tourists, shoppers and diners each year.

Besides the holiday lighting, two years in a row, the group has spruced up the tree pits on Cross and Richmond Streets and has either sponsored or participated in neighborhood plantings and plans to do much more in the near future.

Organizing community participation within the neighborhood is no easy task. Thus far the Committee seems to have a handle on it.
