Salem Street One-Story Addition Opposed

A proposal by Chris Young to construct a second floor addition at 78-80 Salem Street was opposed by the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association and was taken off the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council agenda until further notice.

Plans also call for extending the first floor restaurant “Pulcinella Mozzarella Bar and Ristorante” to the proposed second floor.

Reportedly, the owner of the property, Chris Young, will not construct a roof-deck that could be used by the eatery to serve patrons..

The use of the roof-deck and open windows (noise) were concerns that residents expressed. Residents were also worried about the development of a third story addition sometime down the road. Light, air and line of sight were also concerns raised.
