Beautification Committee Plans Holiday Events

The North End Beautification Committee (NEBC) will hold a Tree Lighting and a surprise visit from the jolly old gent from the North Pole, Santa himself, according to committee member Patricia Thiboutot.

This special holiday event will be held at the corner of Cross and Hanover Streets on Friday, December 7 from 6-7:30pm.

Thiboutot encourages residents to participate in the holiday tree lighting and enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies.

“This is a nice holiday community event,” Thiboutot said. “Hopefully residents will attend the holiday activities with their families and friends.”

The committee is planning to raise funds to decorate the North End during the holiday season, according to committee member Stephen Passacantilli. “In order to accomplish the holiday decoration program, the committee needs to raise funding,” he said. “Any donation is appreciated.”

He noted that Corporate Sponsor is $500, Good Neighbor is $250, Family Sponsor is $100 and Friends of NEBC is $50.

“NEBC is a community based volunteer organization with a mission to preserve and enhance the aesthetic integrity of this historic neighborhood,” Passacantilli said. “NEBC hopes to enrich the community’s beautification through creative and innovative enhancements,” he added.

The committee currently consists of two other members, Allison Seavey and David Grant.
