V. Cirace and Sons Announce New Wine Tasting Room

V. Cirace and Sons, the award winning North End liquor store, recently added a new wine tasting room that offers full service seating, table service and pairings of fresh Italian foods.

Lisa Cirace and her brother Jeff, third-generation owners of the popular North Street location, added the room because the wine tastings became so popular.

“We’ll be featuring wines and winemakers from around the world at our Friday and Saturday wine tastings which are open to the public.  We’ll also offer seminars as well,” said Lisa Cirace.

The wine tastings will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the cozy, intimate tasting room decorated with beautiful antique furniture and glassware located in the rear of the store.

Renowned Italian winemaker Federico Ceretto, whose vineyard is located in the Piedmont area of Italy and who was recently at the North Street location for a wine tasting and bottle signing, says his family has had a long and wonderful relationship with the Cirace family.

“Jeff and Lisa came to Italy to learn about my family’s wine years ago and then began to sell our wine at their shop.  Now I come here to learn from them.  It’s great to be in the North End and see the network they have built.  It’s amazing,” said Ceretto.

Lisa Cirace says in addition to the popular Italian wine, they offer wines from around the world ranging from high end wines to the perfect eight or nine dollar wines for the regular clientele.

The popular purveyor of wine and spirits  has a long and proud family tradition in the North End.  The business was started by Jeff and Lisa’s grandfather Ernesto over 100 years ago.

V. Cirace and Sons has been in the same location since 1906 and in addition to wine they also offer a wide selection of beers and spirits.  Gift baskets, specialty foods and Italian ceramics can be purchased online or in the store.
