Neighborhood Group Wants Representation

Last September the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) advertised the Request For Proposals for planning services associated with the development of a new waterfront plan and Municipal Harbor Plan for the downtown waterfront area and for re-zoning of the corridor along the Greenway.

Reportedly, the BRA received proposals in October and expects to select a consultant soon.

The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee has had contact with the BRA regarding this important planning initiative that will have long-term development affects along the waterfront and the Greenway, according to co-chair David Kubiak.

“NEWRA has raised concerns that the community will be represented on any citizens advisory group that will guide and support the planning process and decisions,” Kubiak said.

The other committee co-chair Victor Brogna who was recently elected NEWRA’s Vice President, while Kubiak was elected as the association’s Secretary.
