Just over 50 North End Against Drugs Family Members journeyed to Apple Crest Farms in New Hampshire to go on our Annual Apple Picking Trip. The sun was shining and it was not too hot so the weather was perfect. Besides picking apples there was so much to do. Some kids picked out their own pumpkin for Halloween, some went on the Hay Ride, while others fed the farm animals at the petting zoo. Almost everyone had some yummy to eat. Besides the Hot Dogs and Burgers at the BBQ, you could get grilled sweet corn – my favorite! There were also Cider Donuts and tons of homemade jams and jellies, cheese, pies and naturally all kinds of fresh grown fruit and veggies! It was a glorious day and the children and yes – the parents and other adults – had a fabulous time!
“NEAD is Happy to run such wonderful Family Oriented Events for the Families in the North End” stated NEAD president John Romano, “It was great to see all the fun everyone had, young and old”. Thanks goes to NSTAR – our corporate sponsor and to Board Member Laurie D’Elia for organizing the trip.
