Local Eateries Help Make Restaurant Week a Success

Antico Forno on Salem Street was one of 23 local eateries that participated in Summer Restaurant Week Promotion.

Two hundred and four restaurants, including twenty three from the North End/Waterfront, participated in Summer Restaurant Week with over three million in restaurant revenue generated throughout the cities and towns that participated in this popular promotion.

In addition to the restaurant revenues complied last August, twenty thousand dollars was raised for charitable partner, Melmark New England, a private non-profit, community based organization dedicated to serving children and adolescents within the autism spectrum disorders.

“Restaurant Week showcases many great chefs and their dining scene,” said Patrick B. Moscaritolo, President and CEO of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“August is a great time to visit Boston because Restaurant Week can be combined with a Red Sox game, a harbor cruise, a city festival or a live concert,” Moscaritolo said. “With so many restaurants to choose from, locals and visitors alike enjoyed the exceptional value, variety and hospitality of Restaurant Week in Boston,” added Moscaritolo.

Antico Forno, Aragosta, Artu, Bacco, Cantina Italiana, Chart House, Davide, Mamma Maria, Marco, Maurizio, Mertiage, Miel, Nico, North Street Grill, Ristorante Fiore, Smith & Wollensky, Strega/North End, Taranta, Terramia, Trattoria di Monica, Tresca, Villa Francesca and Vinoteca di Monica participated in the summer promotion.
