Posting a perfect 10-0 record, the Cardinals captured the 2012 North End Athletic Association Major League divisional title and are favorite to win the playoffs as well.
Coached by John Pezzuto and Chris Marchi, the Cardinals were determined to win the league regular season championship but compiling a 10-0 record was the icing on the cake.
NEAA Baseball Coordinator John Romano and Majors Commission Ralph Martignetti both agreed, “This was the year of the Cardinals.”
“This team played extremely well all season,” Romano said. “They were determined to go undefeated/untied and they played hard to make it happen.”
Martignetti who has won his share of Little League championships as a coach said, “The Cardinals have a solid all around team that came to every game with a winning attitude, producing a perfect season.”
Romano and Martignetti congratulated the players and coaches for the “terrific season they put together”.
Cardinals: John Pezzuto, Owen Locke, Oliver Franklin, Francesco Santaniello, William Marchi, Serina D’Amico, Marilyn Fitzgerald, Francesca Rubino, Nolan Ward and Elliot Wolf.
