Community Election Set for May 19

It’s that time of the year again for the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council to conduct its annual community election.

This year, six of twelve council seats are open for two-year terms.

Elections will be held at the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street on Saturday May 19 from 9am-2pm.

All ballots will be counted on that day and the winners will be announced.

There are six Council members that are incumbents with one year terms remaining.

Candidates must be 18 years old, reside in the community and secure 25 signatures on Nomination Papers which will be available on April 20 and must be returned to the Center by May 4 at 5pm.

Lots will be drawn for positions on the ballot and a candidate’s night will be held on Monday May 14 at 7pm at the Center.

The Council meets the second Monday of each month at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street.
