Commercial St. Sewer Repairs to Take Place

North Square architecture has the strong look of the turn of the last Century as is shown in the above photograph.

A section on Commercial Street between Cross and Richmond Streets will be lined by the Boston Water and Sewer Commission the week of March 19.

A majority of the sewers on various streets have already been cleaned and televised to determine their condition.

Albanese D&S has been contracted to perform this work.

Residents in the area will be notified of the project as separate notices will be delivered to impacted customers. Residents can expect minimum noise and parking impacts. A police detail will be located in the work area to facilitate traffic.

Access to the sewer system may necessitate a reduction in available parking spaces in the project area.

BWSC has been cleaning and lining North End streets for many months without any major problems or complaints from residents or businesses.

The work is expected to take three to five days to complete.

Before the project was undertaken BWSC held public meetings at several venues to advise the community on the overall project.
