NEWNC Supports Beer and Wine with Liqueurs License

A request for conditional use approval, expanded living space and a beer and wine with cordials license, highlighted the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council’s monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center.

One of the largest crowds turned out filling the hall, many of them supporting the requests of Robert DelloRusso and Nick Varano.

The Council supported a request by DelloRusso for conditional use approval by the City to add two accessory uses of body art (tattooing) and tanning (2 booths) to the existing Boston Barber Company at 113-113A Salem Street. All abutters were notified. No change of current hours 10am-8pm. No sign changes. The vote was 8-0.

DelloRusso was represented by North End Attorney William Ferullo.

Nick Varano’s request for a beer and wine with cordials license for Nick Varano’s Famous Deli, 66 Cross Street was also supported by the Council 8-0.

All abutters were notified. No change of hours 9-11pm. No sign changes at this time. Business may have a new name.

The Council also by a vote of 8-0  to tabled a request by Robert Griffin who has filed an appeal with the City for zoning variance to expand living space into the basement of 9 Noyes Place. The applicant did not have the proper paperwork ready or available for a Council vote.

The next NEWNC monthly meeting will be held on Monday, February 13 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center.
