NEAA Freshman Dodgers Take Two

Scoring 37 runs in their last two games got the Freshman Dodgers back in the winner’s circle with convincing a 20-8 and 17-0 wins in the RBI inner city league.

The Dodgers came out slow in the first game but just kept scoring and scoring beating the Tigers 20-8.

The Tigers scored first on an error, a walk and an RBI single with bases loaded and no outs.

Dodgers starting pitcher Robert Pagliuca escaped further damage striking out two batters and getting a ground ball out.

The hometown team made it 6-1 in the second. Aaron Cronin walked, Eli Swab has an RBI singled, Joe Saliba singled, another walk the next two batters struck out. Navide Aminpour walked loading the bases and Joe Saliba stole home making the score 3-1. Jack Dittomassi had an RBI single followed by a two RBI single by Mike Rausseo and a 6-1 lead.

Pagliuca kept the Tigers scoreless in the bottom of the second striking out two Tigers and a ground ball out.

The Dodgers would strike again in the third. Joe Saliba led off with a single and eventually scored on a Navide Aminpour RBI single, 7-1 Dodgers.

The Tigers roared back in the bottom of the third with four runs, 7-5 Dodgers.

The Dodgers put the game out of reach in the fourth. Aminpour, Rausseo (2), Cronin, Pearse Martin, Guarino Vilar, TJ Shea and Dittomassi all scored runs on RBI hits by Dittomassi, Martin, Vilar, Eli Swab, Rausseo and Cronin.

Five more runs crossed the plate in the sixth on hits by Vilar, Aminpour, Rausseo and Cronin picked-up RBIs along with Dittomassi who walked with the bases loaded. Many Dodgers had multiple hits in the game.

In the second game of the week the Dodgers blanked the Twins 17-0 on the strong pitching of Mike Rausseo who dominated the game posting sixteen strike outs.

The Dodgers scored first in the home half of the first. Robert Pagliuca and Aaron Cronin walked and both would steal two bases and score on a balk, Eli Swab was hit by a pitch, stole two bases and scored on a balk for 3-0 lead.

The third inning saw the Dodgers score seven times for a commanding 10-0 lead. Rausseo hit an RBI triple, Swab reached on an RBI ground out, Saliba walked, Nick Mustacchio reached on an infield RBI single, Richard Perez had an RBI walk and Aminpour grounded out picking up an RBI. Two more runs crossed the plate on walks to Swab, Dittomassi, Vilar and RBI Walk to Shea and Aminpour.

The Dodgers picked up five more runs on walks to Cronin and Rausseo, Swab hit an infield single loading the bases with no outs. Dittomassi and Shea walked picking up RBIs and Vilar grounded out picking up an RBI. Final Dodgers 17-0.
