Robert Colleameno

Hair Stylist and North End community service volunteer

Robert C. Colleameno of Boston’s North End died on April 26. He was 87 years old.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a hairstylist at his own salon for more than 38 years. He was also committed to volunteer work with community service in the North End.

The son of Italo and Eva (Sigliano) Colleameno, he leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary (DeLeo), his daughter, Eva Solimine, of Revere, his son, Robert, and his wife, Marie Colleameno, of Medford, his cherished grandchildren, Leah Solimine of San Diego, CA, Jason and his wife, Diana Solimine, of Revere and many beloved brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Entombment was at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the Tucker Gosnell Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers. Maria Ferro

North End resident

Maria (Maltese) Ferro of the North End of Boston died on April 27.

She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Ferro and loving mother of Louis and his wife, Frances Ferro, of Sudbury and Maryann Ferro and Anthony Ferro, both of the North End of Boston. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Regina and Lucia Ferro.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cincotti Funeral Home, Medford. Entombment was in St Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale. Memorial contributions may be made to St Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.

Michael Mercogliano

Former Proprietor of Michael’s Bakery of Billerica and Lynn

Michael F. Mercogliano of Winthrop died on April 26.

The former proprietor of Michael’s Bakery of Billerica and Lynn, he was the beloved son of Michael Mercogliano of Saugus and the late Dora (Lancione) Mercogliano; former husband of Helen (Mastone) of Mashpee; devoted father of Monique Mercogliano-Battista and her husband, Jay of Lynnfield; dear brother of Diane Volch of New York and Phyllis DeNictolis of Boston’s North End; beloved uncle of Maria and Jason Volch and Vincent DeNictolis.

Salvatore ‘Lefty’ DiTavi

Of Maynard, formerly of the North End of Boston

Salvatore “Lefty” DiTavi of Maynard, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on April 26. He was 99 years old.

A US Army veteran of World War II and a  member of the Saint Joseph Society of the North End, he was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Zuccala); father of Angelo and his wife, Yolanda of Maynard; brother of the late Frances Garufo and Rose Trainito and is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Susan, David and his wife, Elizabeth, and Kim and her husband, Eric, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. www.roccofuneralhomes.com
