Rally for Nuclear Safety

Many, many North End residents have been shocked by the nuclear disaster in Japan.

It can happen here, is the message for those living here who are going to take part in an April 6 rally at the State House which is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.

At the very least, every reactor in New England must be checked for safety and for added safety given the tragedy in Japan.

The disaster in Japan has changed the nuclear energy generating playing field.

Redundant emergency safety requirements must be raised on existing reactors and those reactors too old to be made safe in an earthquake or a tsunami must be shut down.

We must benefit from the lessons learned in Japan.

North End residents wishing to show their support for safe nuclear energy should make their way up to the State House on April 6.

  • We won't be able to stop people from developing these nuclear weapons and plants since the nuclear industry is what the future holds.
