A proposal by Liz Ventura to change the use of Mercato del Mare to include take-out service at the fish market on 99 Salem Street was supported by NEWRA 29-0 at last week’s monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center.
A request to change the closing hours at Tresca Restaurant, 227-237 Hanover Street to 1am seven days was voted down by the association by a vote of 10-19. Former Boston Bruins Hall of Fame defenseman, Ray Bourque is a partner in the eatery.
North Bennet Street School President Miguel Gomez-Ibanez advised NEWRA that the school is seeking to relocate tothe former Police Station and Printing Plant on North Street. Both properties are owned by the City of Boston.
He noted that if the school didn’t find more space they would most likely move out of the North End.
NEWRA by a vote of 25-2 to support the school’s attempt to move into the North Street building.
The next NEWRA meeting will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 7pm at the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street. All residents are welcome to attend.
